Language arts
In the preschool years language arts went so easy, all the reading aloud and to teach Mathilde alphabet and the letter sounds— but then when it came to blending sounds and how to go from that to actually reading I started to doubt myself and instead of just keep going on as we did, I did not stop and think before getting our first curriculum. It ended in tears (mostly mine) and I must admit, I panicked a little over the idea that I had to teach another human to read.
So yes, then I got way too many curriculums both from friends and bought some myself without even stopping and thinking about what worked for us, and then we tried too many paths – when in reality I just needed to trust the process and read read read to my daughter.
All the curriculums in this video are good they just didn't work for us, and I ended up doing my own thing for language arts a subject. I truly love literature and hope both my daughters will come to love just as much.
Here is my story and how I felt like, I was just blowing in the wind from curriculum to curriculum till we ended pretty much back where we started without a set curriculum.
